A National effort led by the Western Hills High School Alumni Foundation
Western Hills High School's New Athletic Facility Complex
The Western Hills High School Foundation and the Association of West High Alumni Athletes (AWHAA), the fund raising arm for Athletics, have launched a fund raising drive to build a new field house facility between the football and baseball fields within the Western Hills High School Glenn Sample Stadium. The preliminary design calls for an additional 500-seat grandstand, along with girls and boys locker rooms, coaches offices, ADA compliant restrooms, and a state of the art concession facility with lots of storage.
The campaign runs through the end of the summer and a formal lunch event at the Western Hills Country Club with Pete Rose, class of 1960 was held on April 8th. This was an effort to kick start funds as well as to honor Glenn Sample. The project and the $1 million goal offers pledge opportunities over a five-year period. The Alumni Foundation Board and AWHAA are working together to gather donations from alumni and local businesses to fund the project. If all goes well, the group will have the new Field House facility up and partially functional by Fall of 2016. They currently have raised over $370,000 in cash and pledges.
